A young man was asked to carry a barrel and
a letter to Ashiya by a foreigner, and accepted
upon hearing the fee. He read the letter,
though, which said that gIncluding the bearer
there are 1,000 buttocks,h and indeed the
barrel held almost a thousand others. When
he realized what the letter meant, he fled
the pass in terror.
